I highly recommend to use them in defensive situations. Because of the general location of the torps (in the rear). Torps are for defensive situations only, not only that. I'm struggling to find any method that simply works- at the moment, I'm just throwing torps out there in the vain hope that one of them might hit because something seems really badly screwed up here. Other times, the torps go in a completely different direction to where they should go- last game, I sent three torps straight into an island. I literally get blown from the water waiting for it to show up. I'm cruising along, enemy ship in sight waiting for something to happen- and nothing. Most times the grey target indicator simply does not appear. I've read the tutorials, watched the Youtube videos without any success. I simply cannot figure out the torpedo aiming in this game.

So I figured I'd check out the IJN cruiser line and currently, I'm up to the Tenryu. I've played BBs up to the Queen Elizabeth, but I find them to be far too slow, cumbersome and just a giant target. Additionally, you can disable the reticle by disabling “target locking” in the cockpit menu, or through a toolbar action.I'm having quite a bit of trouble with this. You can de-equip a ship tool (and enable the default reticle) by selecting the empty hand (Option 0) from your toolbar. Tools include the Welder, Grinder, and Drill. The targeting reticle is not active if you have a tool selected. The target reticle can be aimed by using either the first or third-person camera.Targets are identified by a color that corresponds to stance. Once you are within 2.5 km of a target, the reticle will automatically begin tracking the closest target, near the center of your screen. It will not try to track targets outside this range, nor will it be able to lock on. The target reticle has a maximum range of 2.5 km or 2500 meters. The Remote Control blocks do not currently benefit from the new targeting system and cannot be used for this guide. We recommend you explore static weapons and turrets separately as the behavior of each is unique. Either a static weapon or turret will do. To get started, all you need is a powered grid with a weapon and a cockpit.
