In my hands-on malware protection test, Bitdefender didn't fare nearly as well, scoring just 8.6 of 10 possible points. With 9.8 points and 9.7 points respectively, Avira Internet Security and Kaspersky are close behind, and both appear in the latest reports from all four labs. Normalizing and averaging the scores to a 10-point scale, Bitdefender gets a near-perfect 9.9 points. Three of the four independent testing labs I follow include Bitdefender in their regular reports, and all three give it excellent marks. For those who don't have time, I'll summarize my findings here. Read my review of the antivirus for a deep dive into those shared features. Shared Antivirus Featuresīitdefender's antivirus is loaded with useful security features, all of which carry over to this suite. Access to some items on the Utilities page still requires an upgrade to Bitdefender Total Security. In the antivirus, some of them are visible but not functional. The big difference is that all Protection and Privacy features are available in the suite. This whole changing-action system made more sense in past versions that offered more choices.Īs with the antivirus, a left-rail menu lets you open pages devoted to Protection, Privacy, and Utilities. A sixth button lets you put the password manager or file shredder on the main window in place of an existing button that you don’t use as much.

Five button panels let you connect to the VPN, activate SafePay banking protection, or launch a quick scan, system scan, or vulnerability scan. The main dashboard reports security status and displays a banner with recommendations from the AutoPilot feature. This suite's main window looks almost identical to that of Bitdefender Antivirus Plus.
